Wooden Toy, perks up– What exactly do you think it means?

PT - Well, you know… Brooks hasn’t really looked in your direction in a few months. 

WT - Right, and do you think that indicates anything about what I mean to him?

PT- Perhaps… especially when it comes to an exasperated mom trying to figure out how to declutter his space. 

WT- Interesting. The self-righteous cloak that you wear so confidently. 

PT- Excuse me?

WT- What do you derive your value from?

PT- I….. am incredibly valuable to this family and house, I taught the boy his letters, colors, animals. 

WT- I also did the same thing. And I don’t require batteries. I was even passed down from the mother, to Sade, to Brooks. There is lived experience in the very sight of me in this room. Whereas… you simply waltzed in here from Target, you’re high maintenance and weak as you require battery changes every few months… and.. You’re toxic. 

PT– Toxic… there is no evidence of that. 

WT- There is actually … you know what… it’s not even worth debating at this time. 

PT– Seems like you’re missing piece there… wheres your K? 

WT– In this house somewhere… all the more reason for me to stick around as the mother would only desire to give me away in complete form. 

PT - Exhausting. You’re antiquated. Some things are meant to evolve past nostalgia. Functionality is the future. You are limited in more ways than you think.
