Seeker of Knowledge
Born in Dallas, Talibah braved New York City and landed several internships and production jobs in her field with companies such as Ted Hope’s This is That Production Company, Jonathan Demme’s Clinica Estetico, and Malcolm Lee’s Blackmaled Productions.
Talibah then acquired her Master’s in directing at Columbia University’s MFA program. Her films tell stories of familial relationships, precocious children, friendships, single character journeys into recreating identity, obstructing prejudice, and the complicated mosaic of spirituality, self awareness, and expansive growth.
Talibah is an award winning filmmaker, a Director’s Guild of America winner in the African American Category for her film Busted on Brigham Lane and has screened at various festivals local and worldwide. Her work has appeared on networks such as HBO, Black Oak TV and PBS.
Under the umbrella of Buzzfeed and Complex Networks she has pitched concepts for seven figure RFP’s and packaged and directed various branded content pieces for Buzzfeed and Complex Networks with various brands including Target, Macy’s, Gillette, Sephora, Kingsford, Diablo, Frito Lay/Cheetos, General Mills/Totinos, Oikos, Espolon, Ciroc, and Absolut.
Talibah is actively writing, producing and directing as a freelancer across various genres. She resides in New York City and is also the proud mother of three children ages 7, 5, and 2.
